QUALITY CONTROL SUPERVISOR

Location: Chicago, Il

The purpose of this position is to manage the quality program for Elk Grove and the West Coast Refurb Center (WCRC), including vendor quality. The primary focus will be to establish and maintain systems that will ensure quality for all products - manufactured and purchased complete. This position will enforce quality standards and processes; initiating and implementing continuous improvement projects; monitor quality compliance, providing training and support in the application of quality systems; conduct audits at Elk Grove Operations, contract manufacturers; and component suppliers.

Main Responsibilities:
Manage the Quality Improvement Request process to ensure pro-active resolution of equipment problems reported from the field. Review the requests to ensure proper actions are taken in a timely manner. Verify dimensional compliance of components effectively and accurately using the proper measurement methods. Represent the Plant during Agency audits, ensuring that an effective system is in place to provide product quality meeting agency standards. Such as: UL, CSA, NSF, IAMPO and others required by the company. Monitor and assist receiving inspection to keep turn-around from adversely effecting production. Determine dispositions of incoming and production quality issues to minimize effects on service and/or cost. Work with DSE, suppliers, and plant production personnel to insure compliance with specified quality levels and that levels are attainable with cost justifications. Initiate and coordinate corrective and preventive actions to constantly improve total quality. Analyze current measurement technology for the use and implementation into the Elk Grove Quality Department. Review current gauging needs ensuring that proper gauges are used for the analysis of product undergoing both in-process and final inspections. Report on relevant quality data to plant employees. Maintain ISO registration by performing internal audits and ensuring other internal audits are completed and documented correctly.

Key Qualifications:
BS in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related technical 4 year degree Minimum of 2 years experience in quality systems, preferably in an equipment manufacturing environment Strong background and understanding of quality systems including ISO, SPC, Six Sigma, SAE, ASQC Experience in working with various regulatory agencies including UL, CSA, NSF, IAPMO, ASME Good overall understanding of all functions in manufacturing and distribution Strong communication skills Strong Computer Literacy.
